SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its preseason Campbell/ITA singles and doubles rankings Friday with TCU senior Katariina Tuohimaa grabbing a spot in both of the rankings.
In singles, Tuohimaa debuts at the No. 85 spot. She and doubles partner Shalini Sahoo enter the fall portion of the season as the No. 46-ranked doubles duo in the country.
A year ago, Tuohimaa amassed a 20-14 record overall in singles, with 17 of her wins coming in dual play. She played primarily at the No. 3 spot, though she also picked up four wins while playing in the second position.
The Helsinki, Finland, native earned an at-large selection to the NCAA Doubles Championships last spring with partner Kayla Duncan. The duo advanced to the second round of the championships before bowing out in three sets.
Tuohimaa was 14-11 in doubles play during the dual season, with all 14 of her wins coming from the No. 1 slot when teamed with Duncan.
Sahoo appeared in just three doubles matches last spring for the Horned Frogs with a record of 0-3.
