
TCU Boasts Three Players in National Rankings

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU women's tennis team has three singles players and a pair of doubles teams listed in the latest Campbell's/ITA Women's National rankings. The listing names the best 125 singles players and 80 doubles teams in the country.
Sophomore Kayla Duncan is the top-ranked singles player for the Horned Frogs, settling in at No. 88. The Winston-Salem, N.C., native has played from the No. 2 position all season for TCU, recording a 5-6 singles record this spring. She has earned ranked wins over No. 27 Krista Damico from Texas and No. 94 Rachael White of Illinois.
Senior Nina Munch-Soegaard follows close behind Duncan, coming in with a No. 89 ranking. The Amarillo, Texas product has played from the top position all season, taking on some of the top players in the country through the Frogs first 11 matches. The team captain has three wins, all against ranked players.
Junior Katariina Tuohimaa rounds out the list of ranked singles players, holding the No. 100 ranking in the country. Tuohimaa, a native of Helsinki, Finland, has picked up to of the highest-ranked wins of her career this season, taking down No. 16 Mallory Burdette of Stanford and No. 32 Chelsea Preeg from Vanderbilt. Tuohimaa leads the Frogs with her 6-5 record, playing all of her matches from the No. 3 slot.
In doubles action, the team of Duncan and Tuohimaa is currently listed as the No. 58 team in the nation. The pairing is 2-3 this spring, boasting a ranked win over Leigh Finnegan and Megan Fudge from Illinois.
Duncan is also listed alongside Munch-Soegaard as for a No. 67 ranking. Although the pairing is 2-4 and hasn't played together since Feb. 24, the TCU duo did claim a win against the No. 27 team of Amanda Craddock and Damico from Texas.
The Frogs return to the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center to host No. 19 Virginia Commonwealth at 2 p.m., March 18.
