TCU Head Coach Jeff Mitte
On the game:
"It was a tough one to lose, but we were able to come back and play better in the second half. We played with more passion and energy, which brought us back into the game."
On Emily Carter's performance tonight:
"We were able to get Emily a little more shots in the second half. We did not do a very good job of that in the first half. I think the floor was a little more open for her in the second than in the first."
Overall thoughts:
"We missed some layups early in the second half that would have gave us the opportunity to score and go to the foul line."
"I did think we guarded the three better in the second half, but we still didn't get on the glass like we should have."
On the comeback in the second half:
"I thought we fought back hard. We had opportunities to add to our lead at the 4 minute mark, but had some unadvised plays that led to turnovers."
On the upcoming schedule:
"We are not playing with as much confidence down the stretch because of some of the tough losses we have had so far. We have to fight our way through this and get over the hump."
TCU Senior Guard Emily Carter
On what changed from the first to the second half:
"I did not have very many opportunities to shoot in the first half and I was not going to force a shot. Because they were trapping a lot in the second half, it opened me up more, which allowed me to get more shots."
TCU Senior Forward Helena Sverrisdottir
On the energy from the crowd:
"Hearing the crowd and seeing my teammates getting excited after a big play leads to more confidence going back on defense to get another big stop. It was great to have the crowd like they were tonight."
On Georgia's trap at the end of the game:
"That is what they were doing all game and what we were playing for. Emily was able to get a couple of open shots from swinging the ball out of the trap. I just was careless with the ball at the end, which led to the final turnover."
