FORT WORTH - TCU women's tennis coach Dave Borelli announced Thursday the signing of two women to national letters of intent to continue their tennis careers in Fort Worth.
Two international players, Garbriella Barbosa Costa-Silva and Simona Parajova, have signed their names to compete for Borelli's Horned Frogs.
Costa-Silva is one of the top junior players in Brazil and has been ranked as high as No. 530 in the WTA singles rankings and No. 584 in the WTA doubles rankings. She joins the Frogs in January of 2011.
Parajova comes to Fort Worth from Slovakia where she has been ranked up to No. 917 in the WTA singles rankings and No. 756 in doubles. Parajova will be on the Frog roster for the fall of 2011.
"We're really excited about the two girls we have coming in," Borelli said. "We worked hard against other big schools to land them."
With only two signees for his 2011 class and five roster spots available after the spring, Borelli has left himself with three scholarships for next fall's class.
"We've still got three scholarships available," Borelli said. "We're working hard on some other recruits and when the dust settles, this could be the best class I've had in my time here at TCU."
