TCU Closes Out Fall Slate With Runner-Up Finish

WACO, Texas - TCU's women's tennis team closed the fall portion of its schedule Sunday at the HEB Baylor Invitational at the Baylor Tennis Center.
The Horned Frog duo of sophomore Federica Denti and senior Katariina Tuohimaa dropped a gritty 8-6 decision to Lily Kimbell and Maho Kowase of Georgia in the championship finals.
After playing in the last two fall events as doubles partners, Denti and Tuohimaa amassed a 5-2 record.
In the singles championship semifinals, Kowase downed third-seeded Tuohimaa, 6-0, 6-2. The Helsinki, Finland, native finishes the fall with a 3-4 singles record.
In singles consolation semifinal action, Kaltrina Harbuzi of Lamar claimed a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 win over TCU's Shalini Sahoo.
The HEB Baylor Invitational was the last individual event on the TCU schedule for the fall. The Frogs open dual play against Texas-Pan American on Jan. 22, 2011.
