Denti, Tuohimaa Advance to Doubles Final

WACO, Texas - The TCU duo of Federica Denti and Katariina Tuohimaa continued its impressive fall as doubles partners Saturday at the HEB Baylor Invitational at the Baylor Tennis Center.
In the doubles quarterfinals, the second-seeded Horned Frog tandem picked up an 8-2 decision over Mariaryeni Gutierrez and Kaltrina Harbuzi of Lamar.
Denti, a sophomore tranfser and Tuohimaa, a fourth-year vetern, however, weren't done for the day as they downed UTA's Monika Hadvigerova and Maria Martinez again by a score of 8-2 in the championship semifinals.
The duo improved to 5-1 during the fall as playing partners and will square off with Georgia's Lilly Kimbell and Maho Kowase in Sunday's championship match. The Bulldog team is the tournament's No. 1 seed.
In singles play, Tuohimaa picked up a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over UTA's Linda Aquist in the Round of 16.
The Helsinki, Finland, native picked up her third win of the HEB Baylor Invitational in the championship quarterfinals with a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Paula Dinuta of North Texas. Tuohimaa is 3-3 during the fall in singles play.
TCU also got a win the consolation quarterfinals when junior Shalini Sahoo knocked off Amy Joubert of North Texas, 6-4, 6-3.
The Frogs return to action Sunday in the championship finals in doubles play and in the championship semifinals and consolation semifinals in singles play.
