"Today's match was a nice win for the team," said head coach Karen Monez. "We owe this win to personal best performances by Catherine Green, Caitlin Morrissey and Mattie Brogdon. I'm proud of how they handled the match pressure and still turned in solid scores."
Aside from Green, Morrissey had a monster performance for the Frogs in air rifle as she fired a career-high 595 in air rifle. That score was tops among the shooters and helped propel the Frogs to the one-point 2,319-2,318 victory in the event. Brogdon finished fourth in air rifle after firing a 592. Green and Sarah Scherer tied for sixth after shooting a 588. Sarah Beard finished right behind them with a score of 587.
Also shooting in air rifle but not factoring in the aggregate were: Maggie Savage (578), Christin Wilson (575), Jaime Dowd (573), Nicole Makrakis (559) and Alex Ferguson (548).
Green took home first place in smallbore with her score of 582. Brogdon finished third with a career-high 581. Scherer fired a 580, Beard a 576 and Morrissey a 574 to help give the Frogs a 2,360-2,357 win in smallbore.
The Frogs will return to the firing range on Sunday when they take on Nebraska.
