
Volleyball Heads To New Mexico For Friday Tilt

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team returns to the court on Friday night as they take on a New Mexico squad who sits in second place in the league. First serve between the Horned Frogs and the Lobos is set for 8 p.m. (CST).
TCU NOTABLES
A stomach virus swept through the team over the weekend, but the Frogs fought hard at UNLV, only to come up short in a 3-2 loss.
That same virus caused Tuesday's match against Prairie View A&M to be postponed.
The Frogs fell to 1-5 in matches that go the distance this season.
The Frogs did tally a road victory at Air Force, handing the Falcons a 3-0 loss.
Christy Hudson became the first Horned Frog to notch her second triple-double in one season. She has two in her career, tying her with Nirelle Hampton for the most in school history.
Jordan Raines notched two double-doubles on the weekend, bringing her season total to seven.
The Frogs totaled 60 digs alone in the Air Force match and lead the league with an average of 16.65 per set.
TCU improved its blocking, picking up 24 in eight sets played.
NEW MEXICO NOTABLES
The Lobos are riding a four match win streak that includes victories over Utah, BYU, UNLV and Air Force.
New Mexico is 11-4 in its last 15 matches.
Lisa Meeter leads the team with 3.25 kills per set.
Jade Micahaelsen is guiding the offense with her 10.32 assists per set, while the team is averaging 13.20 kills per set.
The Lobos are averagign 2.08 blocks per set, led by Ashley Rhoades' 0.98 per set.
THE SERIES
New Mexico holds a slim 7-6 series lead, but the Frogs hold a 6-5 lead since joining the league in 2005.
TCU has won five of the last six meetings, including a 3-0 victory on Oct. 8 in Fort Worth.
TCU collected its first-ever win at New Mexico in 2009, winning 3-2.
TCU is 1-5 all-time in Albuquerque.
