
TCU Advances Two in Pro Circuit Event Qualifying

GRAPEVINE, Texas - Three current TCU women's tennis players and former player opened play Sunday at the Hilton DFW Lakes Women's $50,000 Tennis Classic.
The tournament, which is a pro-circuit event, features players who have completed their college careers and others who are still in college and are playing as amateurs. All players were playing unattached from their universities.
TCU's Katariina Tuohimaa and Federica Denti were winners on the day in the qualifying stages. Tuohimaa picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win over Sylvia Schenck. Denti was a 7-5, 6-4 winner over Karolina Filipiak.
Former Horned Frog All-American Story Tweedie-Yates also advanced to the qualifying second round with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Emily Harman.
Olivia Smith dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Asia Muhammed, while former TCU All-American Nina Munch-Soegaard fell 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 to Chichi Scholl.
TCU returns to qualifying action Monday at the Hilton DFW Lakes Women's $50,000 Tennis Classic. Frog alum Macall Harkins is in action Tuesday in the event's main singles draw.
