Team Notes
*TCU's 27-0 victory marked the first time in Gary Patterson's 10 seasons as head coach that the Horned Frogs recorded a shutout on the road. The previous six shutouts under Patterson came in home games. TCU's last road shutout was a 24-0 win at Navy on Sept. 30, 2000, when Patterson was the Horned Frogs' defensive coordinator.
*TCU improved to 5-0 for the second straight year and fourth time in the last 11 seasons.
*TCU extended its regular-season winning streak to 18 games. The Horned Frogs have won 19 of their last 20 overall contests and are 31-3 in their last 34 games.
*The Horned Frogs won their eighth straight road game.
*TCU won its Mountain West Conference opener for the fourth time in six seasons. On the three previous occasions they won their MWC opener, the Horned Frogs went on to post a combined 23-1 league record.
*Today was TCU's only game in the opening eight contests played outside the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
*TCU recorded a season-high 346 rushing yards. The total marked the most for the Frogs since racking up 355 in last season's 45-10 road victory at Wyoming (Nov. 21, 2009).
*TCU limited CSU to only 161 yards of total offense, the fewest for a Frog opponent since UNLV posted 160 last season (Oct. 31, 2009).
*TCU won for the 36th consecutive time when rushing for more yards than passing.
*The Horned Frogs won their 45th consecutive game when rushing for at least 167 yards.
*With a 29-yard field goal by Ross Evans, TCU scored on its opening possession for the third time in five games this season. The Horned Frogs had touchdowns against Tennessee Tech and Baylor.
*TCU won for the 45th time in its last 47 games when winning the time of possession battle. The Frogs held the ball for 33:56.
*The TCU defense registered four sacks and now has 15 this season, an average of 3.0 per contest.
*TCU played turnover-free football for the second time this season. The Frogs also went without a turnover in the Sept. 18 win over Baylor.
Individual Notes
*Andy Dalton's 39-yard fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Jimmy Young gave him a new TCU record 50 scoring tosses in his career, breaking the Horned Frogs' previous all-time mark of 49 (Max Knake, 1992-95).
*Matthew Tucker's 47-yard third-quarter run was one yard shy of a career-long carry. Tucker had a 48-yard touchdown run at Wyoming last season. The 47-yard gain was also TCU's second-longest carry of the season and third-longest play from scrimmage. Ed Wesley had a 49-yard touchdown run against Baylor, while Andy Dalton connected with Skye Dawson on a 52-yard pass play versus Oregon State.
*Colin Jones had a career-high and team-best 3 ½ tackles for loss.
*Tanner Brock recorded a career-high 10 tackles to lead TCU. The figure is the highest total for a Frog this season.
*Bart Johnson had a 7-yard reception in the second quarter to extend his team-best and career-high streak to 27 consecutive games with at least one catch.
*Ross Evans' 29- and 43-yard first-half field goals were just his second and third attempts of the season. He is now 3-of-3 on the year and 34-of-41 in his career.
*Redshirt freshman wide receiver Josh Boyce had a career-high four receptions for 44 yards. His previous best was three catches against Tennessee Tech and Baylor.
*Kickoff specialist Kevin Sharples recorded his eighth touchback in the last four games.
*Wide receiver Skye Dawson made his first collegiate start.
*Wesley had scoring runs of 8 and 3 yards to give him a team-high six rushing scores on the season. It was his second career two-touchdown game. He also ran for two scores earlier this season against Baylor.
*Andy Dalton has had a rush of at least 12 yards in each game this season. Tucker has a carry of at least 13 years in each contest.
*Corey Fuller made his first career reception late in the fourth quarter on a 19-yard pass from quarterback Casey Pachall. The pass also marked Pachall's first career pass attempt and completion.
