
Butler, Carter Named Athletes of the Week

FORT WORTH - TCU has selected women's basketball junior Emily Carter (Bossier City, La. I Airline HS) and men's basketball sophomore Kevin Butler (Duncanville, Texas I Duncanville HS) as its Student-Athletes of the Week. Due to the holiday break, the award covers each of the past two weeks of competition.
Carter averaged 20.0 points per game while leading the Lady Frogs to a 3-0 record over the past two weeks. She shot 57.1 percent (20-of-35) from the field and averaged 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 steals per outing. In each of the games she scored at least 17 points, including a 24-point effort Dec. 20 against Sam Houston State that tied her career high.
Butler went for 10.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals over four games and scored a career-high 18 points for the TCU men Jan. 2 against Rice. Against Northern Colorado on Dec. 30, he produced 10 points and seven rebounds. Butler has connected on 78.3 percent of his shots overall from the field (18-of-23) since Dec. 20.
