Individual Notes
*Andy Dalton had 222 passing yards to give him 5,100 in his career. He is the third quarterback in TCU history to reach 5,000 career yards.
*Dalton's 36-yard second-quarter touchdown pass to Jimmy Young marked the second-straight game the duo has connected for a score of at least 30 yards. They had a 31-yard touchdown connection last week at Virginia. They are TCU's two-longest plays from scrimmage this season.
*TCU head coach Gary Patterson earned his 75th career victory, moving him past Abe Martin (74-64-7, 1953-65) into sole possession of second place on the Frogs' career chart. Patterson is 75-27 in his ninth season. Dutch Meyer ranks first at TCU with a 109-79-13 mark (1934-52).
*Four Horned Frogs scored their first career touchdowns: freshman tailbacks Ed Wesley and Matthew Tucker, sophomore tailback Jercell Fort and sophomore wide receiver Antoine Hicks scored their first career touchdowns. Wesley, the Preseason Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year had a 13-yard first-quarter run. Hicks scored on a 3-yard third-quarter carry. Tucker capped the scoring with a 1-yard fourth-quarter run.
*Jerry Hughes had three sacks to give him 4 ½ on the season. He led the nation last year with 15 sacks.
*TCU senior tailback Joseph Turner had 129 yards rushing tonight for his third career 100-yard game and first since a 226-yard effort in the 2007 regular-season finale at San Diego State.
*Turner's three touchdown runs, covering 1, 3 and 6 yards, give him four rushing scores on the season and 22 in his career, most among active TCU players.
*Turner had his third career game of at least three rushing touchdowns. He ran for a career-high four scores in 2007 at San Diego State and three touchdowns last year against Stephen F. Austin.
*Jason Teague recorded his first career interception in the third quarter.
*Bart Johnson recorded a career-high in receptions for the second-straight game. He had seven receptions for 70 yards after totaling three catches for 32 yards last week. The 70 yards are also a single-game high for Johnson.
*Johnson has the most single-game receptions by a TCU player since Jimmy Young had seven receptions for 104 yards in last year's 67-7 win over Stephen F. Austin.
*Daryl Washington led the TCU defense with a career-high nine tackles. He recorded his previous high of seven five different times, including three times in 2008.
