Frogs in Eighth Place at John Hyat Collegiate Invitational

The TCU men's golf team posted an eighth place finish after the first day of action at the John Hyat Collegiate Invitational at the Sawgrass Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla., on Sunday.
The Horned Frogs finished with a team score of 302- which places them three strokes out of a top-five placing after the first day of action. Arizona State (290), LSU (296), Georgia Southern (298), UAB (298) and Tennessee (299) round out the top-five at the John Hyat Collegiate Invitational.
Johan de Beer (Pretoria, South Africa | Pretoria Boys' H.S.) was the Frogs' top finisher after the first day of action with a score of 73 en route to securing a ninth-place showing.
Alexander Knappe (Burlin, Germany | Berufs H.S.) was tied for 24th with a score of 75 while Tom Hoge (Fargo, N.D. | Fargo South H.S.), James Sacheck (The Woodlands, Texas | Zionsville H.S.) and Scott Roudebush (Austin, Texas | Austin H.S.) were all tied for 42nd place with a score of 77 after 18 holes of action.
The second round of action will begin on Monday at the John Hyat Collegiate Invitational at Sawgrass Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla.
