
TCU Upends Tennessee-Martin in Final Round

FRESNO, California - The No. 7 Horned Frog equestrian team topped Tennessee-Martin, 9-3, in the final round of the Best of the West Tournament in Fresno, California.
TCU was led by Carrie von Uhlit as the senior notched the MVP title in equitation over fences. Von Uhlit defeated the Skyhawks' Brittany Kasprack, 76-71. Freshman Taylor Frederick scored a 65 in equitation over fences en route to earning her sixth victory of the season.
Sophomores Jessica Hagen and Milana Trimino both earned wins in equitation on the flat after receiving scores of 64 and 62, respectively.
The Frogs beat the Skyhawks in the western division as senior Chloe Baker topped Tennessee-Martins' Kendra Leake, 74-71.5, in horsemanship. Sophomore Kelsey Huffman received the horsemanship MVP honor and a victory after scoring a 75.
Ashton Mickunas earned her first MVP of the season in the reining event after beating the Skyhawks' Hannah Derks, 72-70. Von Uhlit notched her tenth win of the season in the event after posting a score of 69.
The Frogs are back in action on Feb. 21 when they play SMU at the Park Lane Equestrian Center in Dallas. The action starts at 10 a.m. and results can be found on GoFrogs.com.
