
Frogs Thump Hornets in 15-2 Victory

FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 6 TCU equestrian team (5-3) defeated Delaware State Friday, 15-2, in Mansfield.
The Horned Frogs swept the Hornets, 5-0, in horsemanship as freshman Lyndsi Hardin earned a victory in her first start of the season. Courtney Chown earned MVP honors in horsemanship after defeating Delaware States' Brittni Collins, 72.5-70.5.
TCU's Carrie von Uhlit took home the MVP title in reining after scoring a 71. The win gave Von Uhlit her sixth victory and fifth MVP crown in the event so far this season. Sophomore Kelsey Huffman also notched a win after upending the Hornets' Amanda Hotz, 70-68, en route to earning her fifth reining victory of the 2008-09 campaign.
Jessica Hagen won both of the events she competed in and earned the equitation over fences MVP title after scoring an 80. Von Uhlit and Victoria Lee also grabbed victories in equitation over fences helping lead the Frogs in a 3-1 victory over Delaware State in the event.
Milana Trimino earned her first MVP of the season after posting a 76-67 win over the Hornets' Kammera Brown in equitation on the flat. Tassie Munroe notched her second win of the season in equitation on the flat after defeating her opponent, 69-65.
"We have been working really hard and it is starting to pay off," sophomore Milana Trimino said. "The win was an awesome start for the spring semester and our execution was great today."
The Frogs continue play when they host Sacred Heart Feb. 7 in Mansfield. The action is scheduled for 10 a.m. and results can be found at GoFrogs.com.
