Recap | Final Stats | Notes
TCU Head Coach Gary PattersonOpening Statement:
"We are 3-0; that's what our goal was. To get to the end of this game, any way we could do it, and be 3-0. I told our defense that this was going to be a three-hour mental drill and that's pretty much what it was. It's hard to come to Amon G. Carter Stadium and run the football. Not a lot of teams have done that."
On Stanford Head Coach Jim Harbaugh:
"I have a lot of respect on what Coach Harbaugh is doing. I think he is a fantastic coach. I think he does a great job with motivation and that he's a great recruiter. He's going to do a great job at Stanford."
On the defenses' fourth down stops:
"We had two of them. That's big. It was probably the change in the game. You've got to give our kids a lot of credit for that."
On the upcoming non-conference games:
"It's not going to get any easier for us. We've got SMU; that's always a emotional game. Then we have Oklahoma, in which they will have an off week to prepare for us. Then we go into conference play, and we all know what that's all about."
TCU Sophomore Quarterback Andy Dalton
On running the ball:
"We have a lot of guys that can run the ball. When I get my number called, I like having the ball in my hands. It's fun to run the ball, but it's also fun to let the other guys run with it too."
On the weather:
"I never thought I'd have this much fun playing in the rain. The ball was a little wet, but I tried not to think too much about it and just went out there and played."
Senior Safety Steven Coleman
On the weather:
"We felt that the weather was in our advantage because in the rain it got humid and we're used to that. A few of their guys went down with cramps and when we saw that we knew we had an advantage."
Stanford Head Coach Jim Harbaugh
Opening Statement:
"Well, there's not enough offense that's for sure. I thought our special teams were the highlight of our team today. Nate Wilcox scored well and had a tremendous job today and I felt David Green did a tremendous job as well. Stephen Carr and Doug Baldwin had some real highlights, but not enough offense. I didn't think our plan was good. I thought we got out-coached and out-matched in that regard."
On holding up against the TCU offense:
"We did well at times, but they had a lot more offense than we did today. That's what determined this ball game. They were able to operate and win in the rain; not that the weather played that big of a factor in my opinion, except in the first quarter. That's when it was playing a part in the game. From then on out it really wasn't a big deal. They just did a better job. It's going to be a tough loss to get over. We're going to have to regroup and come back because we're only three games in on this thing."
