Borelli earns win No. 400 as TCU downs UNLV

LAS VEGAS - The No. 31 TCU men's tennis team posted a 5-2 victory over UNLV on Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex to improve to 16-5 overall this season and 3-0 in Mountain West Conference play. TCU head coach Dave Borelli earned win No. 400 in his 20th season of collegiate coaching."The guys played unbelievable today," said Borelli. "The key to our success depends on our doubles play, and I think we have the swagger back. Personally, it was a special day for me to get my 400th career victory in my 20th year of coaching."
At the top doubles position, the 45th-ranked TCU duo of Kriegler Brink and Cosmin Cotet blanked UNLV's Elliot Wronski and David Campbell by a score of 8-0. Emanu Brighiu and Adrian Simon routed Rony Yeghnazary and Luca Barlocchi at the No. 2 spot by a score of 8-3, while Zach Nichols and Jack Seider also recorded an 8-3 win over Wesley Burrows and Matthew Kunkel.
Cotet, ranked No. 29 nationally in singles play, defeated No. 69 Wronski by a score of 6-2, 7-6(2) at the top position. The win was Cotet's 16th of the season and the sixth over a ranked opponent.
Brighiu posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Barlocchi at the No. 2 spot, while Brink improved to 19-1 this season with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Burrows.
Nichols added the final singles win for TCU with a 6-1, 7-6 victory over Yeghnazary at the No. 5 position. Nichols improved to 18-3 this season with the win.
The Frogs will return to action on April 10 in Provo, Utah, with a match against Utah.
