Team Notes
*TCU's 5-1 record equals its best start to a season in the last five years.
*San Diego State totaled only four first downs and 85 yards, marking the fourth time in six games this season that TCU has held an opponent under 200 yards of offense. The 85 yards were also a season-low for a TCU opponent. The Frogs improved to 24-1 in their last 25 games when allowing less than 333 yards of offense.
*San Diego State rushed for minus-13 yards Saturday. It's the second time in the last three games that TCU has held its opponent to minus-yards rushing. SMU had minus-8 on Sept. 20. The Frogs, who entered the game with the nation's leading run defense (29.4 yards per game), are 49-6 under Patterson when holding their opponent under 100 yards on the ground. TCU opponents are now averaging just 22.3 yards per game rushing on the season.
*The Horned Frogs improved to 47-6 in their last 53 home games in Amon G. Carter Stadium.
*TCU has not trailed in any of its five victories this season.
*TCU improved to 46-0 when allowing 17 or fewer points under head coach Gary Patterson. Overall, the Frogs have won 61 consecutive games when holding the opponent to 17 points or less.
*TCU improved to 34-4 since 2005 when playing on any day of the week other than Thursday. The Frogs are 31-4 on Saturdays over the last four seasons.
*TCU was even in turnover margin Saturday and is still +8 on the year. Over the last four seasons, TCU is 29-1 when ahead (25-1) or even (4-0) in that category.
*The Frogs won for the 20th consecutive time when rushing (383) for more yards than passing (115).
*The Frogs won for the 25th time in their last 26 games when holding the edge in time of possession. The Frogs held the ball for 43:29.
*The Frogs rushed for 383 yards to win for the 25th consecutive time when totaling at least 167 yards on the ground.
*TCU improved to 42-5 in its last 47 games when holding its opponent at or below 300 yards in total offense.
*TCU's first scoring drive went 15 plays (55 yards), which tied for its longest of the season in terms of snaps. The Frogs have had three other scoring drives of 15 plays.
*TCU won the coin toss for the fifth time in six games. The Horned Frogs have deferred each time they've won the toss.
Individual Notes
*Quarterback Marcus Jackson made his second collegiate start. His first start came last season at Wyoming.
*Jackson rushed for a career-high 131 yards. It's his second 100-yard effort in the last three games. He had 115 yards at SMU (Sept. 20). He has both of TCU's 100-yard rushing games this season.
*Jackson's 3-yard second-quarter touchdown pass to Shae Reagan was his third scoring toss of the season. He has all three touchdown passes for TCU in 2008.
*Jackson's 3-yard fourth-quarter touchdown run, his second rushing score of the game, marked his third TD run this season. He scored on a 9-yard carry in the third quarter.
*Ross Evans had field goals of 20 and 42 yards to give him eight consecutive made attempts. He is now 9-of-10 on the season.
*Ryan Christian's 10-yard second-quarter scoring run represented his first rushing attempt in the last three games. He did not have a carry since producing back-to-back career-high rushing efforts of 67 and 82 yards, respectively, against Stephen F. Austin and Stanford. Christian finished the game with 56 yards on 10 carries.
*Defensive end Jerry Hughes recorded two sacks to take over the team lead with five on the year.
