
TCU Equestrian No. 9 in Coaches Poll

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Equestrian team opened its season with victories over West Texas A&M, Texas Tech and New Mexico State. So far this season, the Horned Frogs have an overall record of 3-3 and are ranked ninth in the first-ever Women's Intercollegiate Equestrian National Coaches Poll.
Georgia tallied the most votes (63) to receive the No. 1 ranking. TCU defeated the Bulldogs in the finals of last year's Western National Championship to capture its first-ever National Championship crown.
The Coaches poll will be release bi-monthly with the next announcement scheduled for Oct. 14. The final poll will be released April 21, 2009 after completion of the National Championships.
Auburn received the No. 2 ranking with 61 points, followed by South Carolina (56), Texas A&M (45) and Oklahoma State (40) to finish out the top five.
TCU has already faced three of the top-10 ranked teams and is set to face No. 3 South Carolina Oct. 24. The Frogs are also set for a Nov. 15 match against No. 4 Texas A&M.
To close out fall competition, TCU and rival Georgia will compete in a head-to-head match at the Frogs' home facility in Mansfield, Texas. TCU and Georgia are 1-1 in the series match up as TCU will look to get ahead of the count on Nov. 22.
