
TCU rolls over Junior National Team, 99-59

SAN ANDRES ISLAND, Colombia - The TCU Horned Frogs improved to 2-1 on their six-game Central America swing by drubbing the San Andres Junior National Team, 99-59, Monday night. After leading 32-14 at the end of the first period, TCU owned a monstrous 72-28 halftime advantage.
Keion Mitchem drained 24 points, the most by a TCU player on the trip, to pace the squad. In the game's first 13 minutes, the sophomore guard collected 21 points, four assists and four steals.
Mitchem made four of his first five 3-point attempts and was 8-of-9 from the floor prior to halftime. As a team, the Frogs made each of their eight 3-point baskets in the opening half.
Senior guard Ryan Wall netted 17 points thanks to 5-for-6 shooting from the field and a 5-of-6 effort from the line. Neiman Owens (13), Jason Ebie (10) and Alvardo Parker (10) also landed in double figures.
Kevin Langford topped the Horned Frogs with 11 rebounds, with nine coming on the defensive end. Owens, who was one board shy of a double-double, and David Fishel each grabbed nine. Martiese Morones doled out a team-high six assists.
The Horned Frogs shot 55 percent from the field (37-for-68). Over the three contests, TCU is 89-of-197 (.451) and is averaging 82.3 points per game.
TCU rounds out its games on San Andres Island on Tuesday night with a rematch against the San Andres Soles, who defeated the Horned Frogs 80-71 Sunday night. TCU will return to Costa Rica on Thursday afternoon for their final two games, which will be played Thursday and Friday nights.
