No. 73 TCU routs UTA, 5-2

ARLINGTON, Texas - The No. 73 TCU men's tennis team defeated UT-Arlington, 5-2, on Tuesday at the UTA Tennis Center. The win marked the Frogs' third consecutive victory in the past week.
"I'm really pleased with how the kids played tonight," said TCU head coach Dave Borelli. "I think down the stretch the tough competition that we have faced so far this season will really help us."
With the win, TCU moved to 4-8 on the season, while the Mavericks dropped to 5-6 overall. The Frogs now hold a 15-1 overall advantage in the series record.
The Frogs won matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 slots to clinch the doubles point. Kriegler Brink and Cosmin Cotet, who grabbed a national doubles ranking of No. 23 earlier in the afternoon, defeated Daniel Omana and Gonzalo Bienzobas, 9-7, while Radu Barbu and Andrew Ulrich won their fourth consecutive doubles match together with a 9-8 victory over Diego Mattar and Javier Herrera.
TCU earned wins at the top four singles positions to seal the win over the Mavericks. No. 106 Cotet led the way with a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory over Mattar, while Christopher Biro downed Omana at the No. 2 position, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5. TCU also earned straight set victories at the No. 3 and No. 4 slots, as Brink defeated Alberto Agis, 6-2, 6-3, and Barbu triumphed over Herrera, 6-1, 6-2.
The Frogs will take their current three-match win streak up against No. 31 Texas A&M on March 27 at the Bayard H. Freidman Tennis Center.
