COLLEGE STATION, Texas-The TCU equestrian team experienced a day that was typical of an inaugural program as it got beat by the more experienced Texas A&M squad 14-2.Admittedly the strong point of the team, the Lady Frogs were led by their Western team, particularly Carrie von Uhlit, who scored both of TCU's points on the day. Von Uhlit achieved MVP honors in the horsemanship event with a score of 74, while earning her other point in reining with a score of 73.
"They are simply stronger and deeper than we are in the Equitations.," TCU head coach Gary Reynolds said. "We made some mistakes in the Western, but we continue to improve."
Fortunately for TCU, they will have two big opportunities to correct their mistakes this week. They return home to face Auburn, Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. After that it is on to Fresno State on Saturday for the Best of the West tournament. All action can be followed on gofrogs.com.
