
Frogs fall at Army

Fort Worth, Texas - The TCU women's rifle team dropped another close match this season, falling 4,678-4,601 at Army this past weekend. The put together strong performances in smallbore and air rifle and were led by Emily Paper's 1,158 aggregate score.The Frogs battled in air rifle, posting four of the top 10 scores in the event, but dropped a 2,341-2,323 decision to the Black Knights. Erin Lorenzen paced the Frogs with a score of 585, placing her forth in the event. Simone Riford (580), Lauren Sullivan (579) and Emily Paper (579) finished seventh through ninth, respectively. Also competing, but not placing, was Tanya Gorin who shot a 576.
Army jumped to a big lead after the smallbore competition, topping the Frogs 2,337-2,278. Again, the Frogs placed four shooters in the top 10 with Paper leading the way. She shot a 579 in the event. Coming in eighth through 10th place were Lorenzen (572), Gorin (571) and Riford (570). Sullivan rounded out the Frog shooters with a tally of 557 in the event.
The Frogs are next in action this weekend when they travel to Lexington, Ky. for a meeting with Kentucky on Saturday.
