NEW YORK -- The TCU football team is 22nd in the preseason Associated Press Top 25.
The defending Mountain West Conference champion Horned Frogs are ranked in the preseason AP poll for the third time in the last seven seasons. TCU was No. 25 in 2003 and 20th in 2000 on the way to 11-2 and 10-2 campaigns, respectively.
TCU is 21st in the USA Today preseason poll.
TCU opens the 2006 season Sept. 3 with a nationally-televised contest (Fox Sports Net) at Baylor. Kickoff is 4:30 p.m. in Waco.
