Nguyen named to All-Freshman Central Regional Team

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU freshman midfielder Michelle Nguyen has been selected to Soccer Buzz Magazine's All-Freshman Central Regional Team, as announced by the publication on Tuesday.
Nguyen, a native of Richardson, Texas, started all 18 matches in 2006 and finished second on the Horned Frogs with nine points, tallying three goals and three assists. Nguyen also finished second in the Mountain West Conference to teammate Lizzy Karoly with 62 shots.
Nguyen is the first Horned Frog to be named to the All-Freshman Central Regional Team since Brenda DeRose in 1999.
The postseason accolade for Nguyen marks the second time in a little over a month that a TCU freshman has received an honor. In November, Karoly was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's third team All-Rookie squad.
Nguyen was one of 20 freshman selected to the Central Regional Team. The Central Region encompasses 68 teams.
