Horned Frogs dominate Lithuania Academy 103-64

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's basketball team tipped off its 2006-07 season Thursday night by rolling to a 103-64 exhibition victory over Lithuania Academy at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The Horned Frogs forced 40 turnovers and attempted nearly twice as many shots (76) as Lithuania (41) in TCU's lone exhibition contest of the year.
Eleven different Horned Frogs entered the scoring column and six hit double figures. Sophomore forward Kevin Langford scored a game-high 18 points in his first action in a TCU uniform. Fellow newcomer Keion Mitchem, a freshman guard, poured in 16 on 7-of-10 shooting. Others reaching double figures were senior forward Blake Adams (12), senior forward Femi Ibikunle (11), junior guard Neiman Owens (11) and junior guard Ryan Wall (10).
For the game, the Horned Frogs dished out 25 assists on their 39 made field goals and connected on better than 50 percent of their shots. Wall had six of TCU's 28 steals.
Lithuania shot 66.7 percent in the first half (12-for-18), but just 34.8 in the second (8-of-23). TCU had a 44-32 halftime edge before outscoring Lithuania 59-28 in the second stanza.
Five players-Langford, Wall, Mitchem, junior Alvardo Parker and freshman Martiese Morones-saw their first TCU duty. The Frogs begin the regular season at home on Saturday, Nov. 11 against Centenary at 7 p.m.
