FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU will conclude its regular season slate on Saturday with a home date against San Diego State at 12 p.m. at Garvey-Rosenthal Stadium. The match will also mark Senior Day and TCU's four seniors will be honored after the match.
With only one match remaining, TCU (5-8-4, 0-3-3 Mountain West) sits in seventh place in the conference and must finish in the top six in order to prolong its season into the Mountain West Conference Tournament.
San Diego State (6-10-2, 2-2-2 MWC) is in fourth place in the conference and enters Saturday's match having lost three straight games. The Aztecs are coming off a 2-0 loss at San Diego on Wednesday.
Saturday's match will be webcast for free on www.GoFrogs.com and can also be heard on 88.7 KTCU. Handling the play-by-play is R.J. Choppy of ESPN radio. Jackie Rodriguez will provide analysis and Jay Fitzgerald will be roaming the sidelines. Fans can watch the game on GoFrogs.com by visiting TCU All-Access and signing up for free.
The first 100 fans at the match will receive purple TCU bracelets. In addition all fans in attendance will receive the complete set of TCU trading cards.
TCU is bidding for its first win in the conference after falling at No. 11/15 Utah, 4-0, and tying Air Force, 0-0, last week.
TCU currently sits in seventh place and must finish sixth or higher to qualify for the conference tournament, which will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah, beginning Nov. 1.
In order for TCU to move into the sixth spot, the Horned Frogs must defeat San Diego State on Saturday and Air Force must defeat New Mexico on Friday. If the aforementioned scenario held up, TCU would still have to makeup some ground in the goal differential since both teams tied earlier this season in the head-to-head tiebreaker.
San Diego State has conference wins over UNLV and at Wyoming, but have lost three consecutive matches to New Mexico, Utah and San Diego. Opponents are scoring 1.43 goals per game against the Aztecs, who are coached by third-year head coach Mike Giuliano. The Aztecs are led by the duo of Jen Mello and Erika Sutton, who have 19 and 11 points, respectively.
Tickets can be purchased before the match and at the gate. Single-game tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth. Fans interested in purchasing tickets in advance can visit the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum ticket office, GoFrogs.com or by calling the ticket office at (817) 257-7967.
