GoFrogs.com recently sat down with senior goalkeeper Katy Buchanan. A native of Plano, Texas, Buchanan is majoring in supply chain management and will graduate this May.
Buchanan has started 13 games in goal this season for the Horned Frogs and has a record of 4-6-2.
GoFrogs.com: What are your plans after graduation?
Katy Buchanan: I plan to get a job in the Fort Worth area. I've been going to a few interviews, so we will see what happens. I'd like to work for a few years before I go back to school and work on earning my master's degree. I am also to traveling for my job as well.
GF: With the season moving into the last month, how much has the team really come together since August?
KB: I think there is a lot of trust that has been built with the team. Everyone knows that they can rely on each other and count on one another.
GF: What has been the most memorable game of your career at TCU?
KB: My first start of my career against Texas A&M has to be my most memorable game.
GF: Now that conference season is in full swing, how beneficial was it to play such a difficult non-conference schedule?
KB: I think our non-conference schedule was very important because it gave us an opportunity to see teams that have styles of play that are similar to teams in our conference.
GF: Recently, you have had two games where you had seven saves and also matched a career high with nine saves. What has been the key to your recent play?
KB: It has just kind of been one of those things where I've been able to make the best of my opportunities. The saves have just been coming and I've just been trying to leave it on the line.
GF: What has been the most enjoyable part of your time at TCU as a student-athlete?
KB: I've really enjoyed traveling with the soccer team. I've had an opportunity to travel to so many different places that I would have never had the opportunity to see. It has just been a great experience.
