TCU places 13th at Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The TCU women's golf team closed play today with a 13th-place finish at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.Catherine Matranga shot a final round 2-over-par 75 for the Frogs' low score in tying for 28th individually.
Eileen Vargas of team champion Pepperdine carded a 68 to take medalist honors. Her 5-under-par 211 was two strokes better than Wave teammate Carolina Llano and Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll.
Pepperdine's three-day score of 873 was three strokes below par. The Aggies placed second, two shots back at 875.
TCU returns to action Oct. 10-11 at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational in Manhatten, Kan.
