TCU women's golf surges on final day of tourney

VERONA, Wis. -- Led by Camille Blackerby's 72, the TCU women's golf team posted the fifth-best score on the final day of the Badger Invitational to finish in eighth place overall.
Blackerby's strong finish placed her in a tie for 14th individually. She started the day in a deadlock for 34th. Blackerby's 72 was one stroke off the best round of the day.
Purdue captured the team title with a 293-289-297--879, 17 strokes ahead of Texas A&M (299-291-306--896). Playing in their first tournament of the year, the Frogs shot a 310-316-305--931.
Onnarin Sattayabanphot of the Boilermakers took medalist honors with a 1-under-par 215 (71-69-75), one shot better than Aggie golfer Ashley Knoll (71-72-73--216).
TCU returns to action Sept. 26-28 at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
