- Cory Rodgers had a first-quarter reception to extend his streak to 26 games with at least one catch. It represents every contest in his collegiate career.
- Ervin Dickerson's first-half catch made him the 10th different Frog to have a reception in the opening six quarters of the season.
- Rodgers' 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was the first score of his career via a return as well as the longest return. His previous long kickoff return was 55 yards, while he once went 57 yards with a punt.
- Rodgers has moved into second place on TCU's career list for kickoff return yards with 1,349, surpassing Toby Morey (1,276, 1989-91). LaTarence Dunbar is the leader with 1,513 yards (1999-02).
- Starting tailback Lonta Hobbs left the game in the first quarter with a groin injury and did not return. He had rushed for 40 yards on six carries.
- Robert Merrill topped TCU on the ground with 99 yards on 20 carries. He was one yard shy of his ninth career 100-yard game.
