FORT WORTH, Texas - The NCAA Baseball Regional brackets were announced Monday on ESPN. The TCU Horned Frogs will be heading to Waco, Texas to take part in the Waco Regional. The Frogs enter the tournament as the two seed in the region. They will play the region's third-seed, Stanford on Friday. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday, June 3 and run through Monday.
The other two teams in the bracket are host-school Baylor and the fourth-seeded UT-San Antonio. These teams will square off in the second game on Friday.
For the first time in school history, the Frogs have earned back-to-back trips to the NCAA Regionals. TCU participated in the Austin Regional a year ago, going 1-2 against Oral Roberts and Youngstown State. This is the Frogs fourth overall trip to the regionals. The previous two trips came in 1994 and in 1956.
The winner of the Waco Regional will play the winner of the Clemson Regional in the Super Regionals. The four teams in that region include the host school, Clemson, College of Charleston, Oral Roberts and North Carolina A&T.
The Frogs are one of four Conference USA teams to earn a berth into the 2005 Tournament. Joining the Frogs are the East Carolina Pirates, the Tulane Green Wave and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
