FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU right-handed pitcher Lance Broadway is one of just six collegiate baseball players to be named as a semifinalist for two national awards. He is one of 10 semifinalists for the Roger Clemens Award that goes to the nation's top pitcher. He is also one of 16 semifinalists for the Xanthus-Dick Howser Trophy that goes to the nation's top collegiate baseball player. Broadway has emerged as one of the country's most productive pitchers this spring, tying for the national lead in victories with 12. He put together a streak of 35 1/3 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run earlier in the year and currently owns a 1.94 ERA, a league-best in C-USA. The Grand Prairie native has fanned a league-best 125 batters this season. Both the wins total and strike out total are new single-season records at TCU. He has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week three times this season and has earned Pro-Line Cap National Player of the Week once.
Joining Broadway from Conference USA as a semifinalist for both awards is Brian Bogusevic of Tulane.
