Lance Broadway Named C-USA Co-Pitcher Of The Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU right-handed pitcher Lance Broadway was named the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance this past weekend against the Houston Cougars. The honor marks the second in Broadway's career and the fifth for the Frogs this spring. He shared the honors with Tulane's Billy Mohl.
Broadway threw his second complete-game of the season in a 7-2 win on Friday night. He tied a career high with 12 strikeouts, allowing just one earned run on seven hits. He picked up his league-leading 10th victory of the season. His 12 strikeouts pushed him over the century mark, giving him 102 on the season, becoming the first Frog since 2003 to post a 100-plus strikeout season. The Frogs improved to 10-1 in games that Broadway starts.
Broadway was honored earlier this season following a dominating complete-game effort against the No. 5 Rice Owls. Also honored this season was Shelby Ford, who earned Conference USA Hitter of the Week on Feb. 14. Keith Conlon was named Hitter of the Week on April 11, while Matt McGuirk followed a week later with his first career Hitter of the Week honors on April 18.
The son of Jackie and Toni Harrison and Lynn and Dawn Broadway, Broadway is a native of Grand Prairie, Texas and a transfer from Dallas Baptist.
