FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU women's golf coach Angie Larkin has announced the signing of Ashley Watkins (Sealy, Texas) to a National Letter of Intent.
A senior at Sealy High School, Watkins has won 21 major tournaments over the last two years. During that time, she was also a runner-up on four occasions.
"We're real excited to have Ashley join our program," Larkin said. "She's a great up-and-coming player. We believe we've found a diamond in the rough and we're just thrilled to have her as a part of the Frog family."
Watkins was seventh at the 2005 Fidelity Investments Junior Championship conducted by the American Junior Golf Association. She also earned 11th-place finishes at the AJGA Stars of Texas Junior and the AJGA Valero Texas Open Junior Shootout.
As a sophomore, Watkins finished third at the 2004 Texas UIL State 3-A Tournament. She ranks in the top 15 percent of her graduating class and is a three-year letterwinner for Sealy.
