- TCU graduate and National Football League standout LaDainian Tomlinson wore a TCU sweatshirt and was on the Frog sideline to support his alma mater.
- The win was the 40th of Gary Patterson's head coaching tenure at TCU, tying him with Jim Wacker for fourth on the Frogs' career list.
- After entering the game a nation-leading +17 in turnover margin, TCU was at -3 in the first half and -1 for the game.
- With 170 yards, Robert Merrill posted his ninth career 100-yard rushing game.
- Merrill's 38-yard first-quarter run moved him ahead of teammate Lonta Hobbs (2,406 yards) into eighth place on TCU's career rushing chart. Merrill now has 2,554 yards.
- Merrill's two touchdowns gave him a team-high nine on the season and 19 in his career.
- Merrill recorded his top rushing day since 143 yards (34 carries) in last year's season finale against Tulane.
- Wide receiver Matt Grimmett had a career-high four receptions as he surpassed his season total of three entering the game.
- With its 7-0 lead, TCU has now outscored opponents 65-10 in the first quarter of the last five games.
- Tommy Blake's second-quarter sack was his team-high fifth of the season and 10th of his career.
- Donald Massey's 32-yard second-quarter kickoff return was the first of his career.
- TCU trailed at the half for the first time since Sept. 24, when it was down 24-16 at BYU.
- Quincy Butler's third-quarter interception was his team-high fifth of the season and fourth pick in the last five games.
- Cory Rodgers' 6-yard scoring run was his third rushing touchdown on just 11 carries this season. It was also his longest carry from scrimmage in 2005. Rodgers now has eight career rushing touchdowns and 25 total scores in his career.
- David Roach's fourth-quarter interception was his second of the season and his career.
