TCU NOTES- Jeff Ballard's 75.9 completion percentage (22-of-29) ranks as the seventh-best single-game mark in TCU history.
- TCU improved to 5-0 all-time against Army.
- The five victories by Horned Frog coach Gary Patterson over Army represent his most wins against an opponent.
- TCU has outscored its opponents 51-7 in the first quarter over the last three games.
- TCU is now 3-0 at home this season and 27-4 since the start of the 2000 campaign.
- Chris Manfredini's 27-yard third-quarter field goal made him 7-of-7 on the season and 17-of-18 in his career.
- Quincy Butler had two interceptions and now has a team-best four on the season. He has six career picks.
- Cory Rodgers' five receptions gave him 135 in his career to tie John Washington (1993-96) for fourth on the TCU career list.
- With a 19-yard scoring reception, true freshman Aaron Brown now has a team-best three touchdown catches on the season.
- With a first-quarter reception, tight end Brent Hecht became the 15th different Frog with a catch this season.
- Tailback Robert Merrill's first-quarter touchdown was his sixth of the season, tying him with Ballard and Rodgers for the team lead. Merrill has 16 career touchdowns.
- Rodgers' touchdown catch was his second of the season and 14th of his career. Overall, it was the 23rd career score for Rodgers. He has seven rushing touchdowns and two on kickoff returns.
- Sophomore quarterback Chad Huffman made the first appearance of his career when he entered the game in the second quarter.
- A sack by Jesse Hejny was his second of the season. He now has 2.5 in his career.
- Walter Bryant had a 26-yard reception for his first catch since he had two grabs in the season-opening 17-10 win at Oklahoma.
- Detrick James made his collegiate debut in the fourth quarter. He rushed four times for 25 yards. He had the longest rush for TCU on the night with a 15-yard run. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry.
ARMY NOTES
- Saturday's skirmish between Army and TCU marked the fifth time the two teams have met overall, and the third time the squads have battled in Amon G. Carter Stadium. TCU's 38-17 victory was its fifth straight over the Black Knights. Army slips to 0-6 with the loss while its losing streak now stands at 11 games, dating to October 2004.
- Sophomore punter Owen Tolson's two 65-yard punts in the third quarter are the two longest of his career.
- Senior Scott Wesley returned five kickoffs Saturday night, upping his career total to 88, which leaves him one shy of tying William White for the Academy's career kickoff return record (89). He also moved into second place on Army's all-time kickoff return yardage chart, increasing his career yardage total to 1,929.
- Senior QB Zac Dahman, a Fort Worth native, made his 29th career start under center for the Black Knights Saturday, tying the Academy's career mark for quarterback starts held by Leamon Hall and Ronnie McAda.
- On his 35-yard completion to Jeremy Trimble in the third quarter, QB Zac Dahman became Army's career total offense leader. Dahman finished the night with 251 yards in total offense, boosting his career total to 5,680. The previous standard had been 5,524 yards, set by Leamon Hall from 1974 through 1977.
- Dahman finished the night with 252 passing yards (22 of 40) for the 14th 200-yard game of his career, which continues to extend his Army career record in that category. Dahman's 22 completions and 40 attempts both were season highs.
- Senior RB Scott Wesley's 42-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was his team-leading fifth rushing touchdown of the year and marked the sixth consecutive Army touchdown posted by Wesley (five rushing and one receiving).
- Senior RB Carlton Jones' 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was his first rushing touchdown of the season. Jones set an Academy record with 17 rushing touchdowns in 2004.
- Junior WR Walter Hill notched a career-high eight catches for 71 yards. His previous career best had been four receptions, accomplished twice previously.
- Sophomore DB Caleb Campbell's second-quarter interception was his team-leading third of the year. Campbell entered the game listed tied for 39th in the nation in interceptions per game (0.40).
- Sophomore DT Tony Fusco's third-quarter sack was the first of his career.
- TCU RB Robert Merrill led the Horned Frogs with 85 rushing yards. The Black Knights have yet to allow an opposing runner to gain 100 yards on the ground this season.
