
Browne Honored By Conference USA

TCU placekicker Nick Browne has been selected as the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of September 20, the conference office announced today.
Browne, a 5-10, 172-pound senior from Garland, Texas, scored 12 points in TCU's 30-14 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday night. He converted all three of his field goal attempts and was successful in all three of his extra point conversions. His field goals came from 22, 35 and 50 yards out. The 50-yarder matched his career long, accompished twice previously.
Browne became just the seventh player in TCU history to surpass the 200 point plateau as his 12 points gave him 202 for his career. He currently ranks sixth on the school's all-time scoring list with 202 points, one point ahead of TCU great Jim Swink. It was the fifth time that Browne has been recognized by Conference USA for his on-field achievements during his TCU career. He became the second Horned Frog player to win an award this season, joining Ricky Madison, who was honored as the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week following the season-opening win at Tulane.
Browne and the rest of the Horned Frogs will be in action again on Saturday, when they travel to Tucson to take on the Pac-10 Arizona Wildcats.
