After six weeks of non-conference action, TCU kicks its baseball season into high gear when it opens Conference USA play this weekend versus No. 21 Tulane. Game times are set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday at TCU's Lupton Stadium and Williams-Reilly Field.
The C-USA opening series pits Tulane, picked to finish second in the league's 2003 preseason coaches' poll, with the Horned Frogs, who were tabbed seventh in the preseason vote.
The Frogs will be looking for revenge this weekend, as they were swept by the Green Wave last April 19-21 in a three-game series in New Orleans.
Tulane (14-4) comes into the weekend the winners of five-straight, including a thrilling 5-4, 11-inning triumph over No. 16 LSU Tuesday evening.
TCU (11-9) has dropped five of its last seven contests, including a 6-3 setback at No. 20 Texas Tech on Tuesday.
The Green Wave was one of five C-USA squads to advance to last year's NCAA Tournament. The Horned Frogs will face all five of those teams (Tulane, Houston, East Carolina, South Florida and Louisville) in friendly confines of Lupton Stadium this season.
