TCU Head Coach Gary Patterson
On the matchup
"That was two top 20 football teams out there tonight. If we get knocked out of the top 25, I'll know those people don't watch football. There were a hundred-thousand different things that could have gone wrong or right for either team tonight. That was just two teams getting after it. At some point in time, the odds just aren't in your favor."
On going for the fourth down in the first half
"We were playing a team that averages more than 40 points a game. We had to keep the ball out of their hands. We had to try and win the game."
On the defense in the second half
"We put more pressure on the quarterback in the second half. It directly led to the (Josh) Goolsby interception. We also tipped a number of balls, where if we hadn't they would have had a guy going a long way down the field.
On the game plan
"We knew going into the game that we had to control the ball to beat them. I thought we won all three phases in the first half, we just gave up three big plays. In the second half, both defenses stepped it up a notch. Everyone talks about their offense, but their defense played really well. It's too bad one team had to lose."
On the future
"Teams that win ballgames and have tradition always recruit good players. The people who say we aren't recruiting the Bo Schobel's of the world, ought to come out and watch spring practice and see how some of our players are developing."
TCU Kicker Mike Wynn
On his field goal attempt
"I had been warming up for the kickoff, I had only kicked a couple into the net, but that point, I was as ready as I ever would be. I gave it my best shot. I felt good but it fell a little short."
TCU Kicker Nick Browne
On his injury
"I pulled my (left) quad a little late last week. It was mainly due to over-kicking. I have to give a lot of credit to Mike Wynn for stepping up and giving it his best shot. It was a tough situation to be in with the game on the line, a 50-plus-yard field goal."
Boise State Coach Dan Hawkins
On the game
"We knew it would be a tough chore coming down here and getting a win. All our coaches and kids had the attitude that we felt like we were going to win. It's too bad one team had to lose."
On what the victory means
"This is just another step for the Boise State program. There will always be 'New things coming next year.' That's just the nature of our program. It was good to see players step up all year long. The reality is that if you win, you have a good time, if you lose, you don't. It's awesome to go home with a win. I will have an awesome Christmas."
On where he sees his team
"I will vote us in the top 10. I look at what TCU has done this year, what we've done, who we've played and the fact that we are 13-1. We definitely deserve to be top 10."
On Quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie
"There's not a better quarterback in the nation than Ryan. He has grown up so much as a player and a leader over the last year. I'm glad to say that he will be a better person after leaving here. He will surprise people. He will be a good quarterback on Sundays down the road."
Boise State Quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie
On the victory
"This was the biggest win of the year for our team. We played a great opponent in TCU. We made it pretty close and exciting. This game shows how far both teams have come. We should be a top 10 team. We played a tough game against a tough team. We didn't play our best and we still came out with a win. I think that shows a lot."
