
Jessi Moore Named Second-Team All C-USA

Charlotte, N.C. - Four Horned Frogs earned all-conference honors that were released on Tuesday prior to the start of the Conference USA Postseason Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. Jessi Moore earned the top honors for the Frogs as she was named to the second team. She is the first Horned Frog since Brenda DeRose was named first-team All-WAC in 2000 to be selected to the all-conference team. Karissa Hill and Amy Van Zandt earned third-team honors and Ashley Fortune was named to the All-Freshman team.
Moore was second on the team with six goals scored, five of them coming against conference opponents, while racking up three assists for a total of 15 points on the season. Moore was a key contributor to a Horned Frog team that finished second in the conference after being picked to finished 12th in the preseason.
Van Zandt finished the regular season with seven goals and three assists to lead all TCU scorers. She was the go-to player on the team when the Frogs needed a key goal, picking up four game-winning goals, all of them against conference opponents. She scored twice to defeat Cincinnati and picked up last-minute goals to defeat Houston and Memphis. Hill finished the regular season with a goal and four assists. Her lone goal was the game-winner against Saint Louis.
Fortune is only the second Horned Frog to earn Freshman All-Conference Honors since TCU joined Conference USA in 2001. Laura Greenberg earned the honors in 2001. Fortune scored four goals and tallied three assists to lead all TCU freshman this season.
TCU begins play in the 2003 Conference USA Postseason Tournament on Wednesday in Charlotte. The Horned Frogs will square off against Tulane at 2:30 (EST) on the Charlotte campus. TCU defeated Tulane 2-0 on October 19 for their sixth conference victory of the season.
