TCU Postgame Notes
TCU Team:
* TCU is 5-0 for just the third time since 1942 and the eighth time in its 107-year history. The 2000 squad began the season 7-0 before losing to San Jose State, while the '42 team got out to a 5-0 start prior to a loss to Baylor. The only other TCU teams that opened 5-0 were the 1920, 1928, 1929, 1935 and 1938 squads.
* TCU has now won 15 of its last 16 games.
* The Horned Frogs have won 10 straight games at Amon G. Carter Stadium dating back to the 2001 season. The streak started with a 37-22 victory over 17th-ranked Louisville on Nov. 23, 2001. The school record for consecutive home wins is 12 (1932-34).
* Tonight's attendance was 39,282. It was the largest crowd at Amon Carter since 41,068 were on hand to watch TCU and UTEP on Nov. 18, 2000.
* For the first time in school history, TCU has had three consecutive home crowds of more than 35,000.
* TCU's home attendance average through three games is now 37,387. The all-time record for TCU home season attendance is 37,133 set in 1994.
* TCU is now 3-0 all-time against Army, owning a 111-47 scoring advantage.
* The Horned Frogs, who led 6-0 at halftime, have now led at intermission in 15 of their last 16 contests.
TCU Offense:
* Wide receiver Bruce Galbert recorded his first career touchdown on a 40-yard pass from Brandon Hassell.
* Wide receiver Cory Rodgers scored his first career touchdown on a 15-yard reception from Hassell.
* Running back Robert Merrill grabbed his third straight 100-yard rushing game. He carried 15 times for 100 yards.
* TCU has had a 100-yard rusher in 11 of its last 12 games dating back to last season.
* TCU did not score a rushing touchdown for the second straight game.
TCU Defense:
* The TCU defense recorded its first shutout since a 37-0 decision over Rice on Oct. 28, 2000.
* TCU has not allowed any first half points in either of the last games. The Horned Frogs have allowed just 24 first-half points all season.
* Cornerback Mark Walker now has four interceptions in his last three games and five INTs in his last six regular season contests.
* TCU now has at least one interception in every game this season and has 11 in those five games.
* Cornerback Tyrone Sanders picked up a fumble and returned it 35 yards for a score in the third quarter. It was the first defensive touchdown for the Frogs this season. It also was the first fumble return for a score since John Turntine went 21 yards against Northwestern on Sept. 7, 2002.
