FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's basketball team, which officially kicks off the 2003-04 campaign with a Late Night With the Frogs event tonight beginning at 9:00 p.m. (CT), will hold its first practice of the season on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Both events will be held at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on the campus of TCU.
Media is welcome and encouraged to attend Late Night With the Frogs as well as the first practice, which is open to the public. Media interviews will be conducted immediately following practice. At Late Night With the Frogs, TCU's own Kristin Holt, who appeared on the first season of the American Idol television show, will serve as emcee. Horned Frog fans will have a chance to see the newcomers and returners for both the men's and women's teams, as the players will perform a variety of skits and dance routines.
Godfrey, a comedian best known for his appearances in the recent 7-Up commercials, will perform a PG-13 rated comedy show to kick off the event. In addition, fans will be treated to performances by the TCU showgirls, cheerleaders and SuperFrog. A student slam dunk contest is also slated. Fans seeking players autographs may do so following the event.
In other news, the team's first exhibition game against Interhoop has been moved up one day to Thursday, Nov. 6. Tipoff is set for 7:05 p.m. at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Admission to the exhibition contest is free.
