Horned Frogs Play at Virginia Commonwealth on Saturday
12/20/2002 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
Dec. 20, 2002
For the first time this season, the TCU Horned Frogs take to the air, flying to Virginia to take on the Virginia Commonwealth Rams. The Frogs have played three road games, but all have been short day-trips on the bus. TCU (4-3) is 2-1 outside of Fort Worth, while VCU (4-3) is 4-1 at home. The all-time series is tied at one game apiece. The Horned Frogs won the last meeting, 90-72, on Dec. 6, 2000 in Fort Worth. Both TCU's Neil Dougherty and VCU's Jeff Capel are first-year head coaches. Interestingly, both Dougherty (Army) and Capel (Duke) were coached by coaching legend Mike Krzyzewski during their college playing days. This game is not televised, but fans may watch the game on the internet at www.vcu.edu/vcurams.
