FORT WORTH, Texas--First-year head football coach Gary Patterson and his coaching staff will offer a football clinic to female football fans on Monday, July 23. Nearly 200 fans attended TCU's first-ever women's clinic last year.
The Horned Frog coaches will provide participants with information and rules about the sport of football as well as give them the inside scoop on TCU's upcoming 2001 season. Three different levels of sessions are offered: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
Susan Nix, CEO of Nix & Hilton Associates, said she learned a lot at last year's event. "It's awesome to see how a little football knowledge can make a woman more engaging to sit with in the stands," Nix said.
The event will be held on Monday, July 23, from 6-8 p.m. in the John Justin Athletic Center on the TCU campus. The cost is $15 per person and all proceeds benefit Project Purple, a foundation which provides game tickets to underprivileged children throughout the Horned Frog season.
With a high turnout anticipated, registrations on the night of the clinic will not be accepted. The deadline for registering is noon on July 23. Payments may be made at the door or by sending a check or money order to: Women's Football Clinic, c/o TCU Sports Marketing, TCU Box 297600, Fort Worth, TX 76129.
