TCU Head Football Coach Gary Patterson welcomed his first freshmen class to the TCU campus and to the Horned Frog football program on Monday afternoon.
A total of 19 newcomers are expected to report to camp by the end of the week. The list of arrivals on Monday was somewhat abbreviated, as five freshmen recruits are taking part in the Texas High School All-Star game, which will be held at Amon Carter Stadium on Tuesday.
The freshmen class will participate in their first practice on Tuesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. and will return to the practice field on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. for the first of twice-daily practices. All TCU practices will be held at the Morris Practice Fields, located behind Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
TCU's varsity will report on Thursday, August 2. The Frogs will host their annual Media Day on Friday, August 3, then begin two-a-day workouts on Saturday, August 4. The first full squad practice is set for 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Frogs open their 2001 season on August 25 when they travel to Lincoln, Nebraska to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Pigskin Classic.
