Women's Tennis Wins Two Over the Weekend

The Frogs defeated the Central Florida Golden Knights, 5-2. TCU won the doubles point when Katrin Gaber and Karolina Roubickova rallied from 7-6 down to defeat Marieke Gunawan and Sonja Prokopec 9-7 in the top slot. Paty Aburto, Rosa Perez and Roubickova gave TCU a 4-0 lead in singles action. At no. 2 Aburto dismissed Anna Westin 6-2, 6-0, at no. 3 Perez defeated Gunawan, 6-1, 6-1, and at no. 6 Roubickova dumped Daniela Okal 6-1, 6-1. The Golden Knights dropped to 11-4.
On Sunday, TCU beat the South Florida Bulls, 5-2. The Frogs won the doubles point by winning at nos. 2 and 3. At no. 1 singles, Katrin Gaber upset 69th-ranked Tina Harrison in two sets, 6-1, 6-3. The Frogs also won at positions 2, 3 and 5. Roubickova extended her winning streak to 11 matches. South Florida moves to 3-11.
TCU travels to Houston to play Rice on Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m. The Frogs' next home match is Thursday, April 5, when they host North Texas at 2 p.m. on the Bernard "Tut" Bartzen Varsity Courts at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
