Women's Tennis Shuts Out Wyoming, 7-0

TCU swept at singles, with all but one match needing only two sets. Junior Katrin Gaber won at the no. 1 spot against Jenny Bowman, 6-1, 6-1. Junior Leoni Weirich shutout Paulina del Monte, 6-0, 6-0, at no. 5. The no. 4 match used the 10-point tiebreaker set since TCU had gained enough points for the win. In that match, freshman Saber Pierce recovered after loosing her first set to Stacy Kneese to win the second set and the tie-breaker set. Pierce extends her winning streak to six matches.
In doubles, Gaber and Karolina Roubickova ended their six-match loosing streak when they defeated Bowman and Angela Dossetor at no. 1, 9-7. Pierce and Rosa Perez won at no. 2, defeating Sofi Espinosa and Kneese, 8-4. In their first match paired together, Weirich and Brenna Shackelford lost to del Monte and Toni Terhaar, 8-6.
The Frogs play 39th-ranked Mississippi State (4-5), Tuesday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the TCU campus.
