Fond Farewell
TCU bids farewell to five Frog seniors today. The group of Nick Baker, Davis Bland, Aaron Casey, Andy Gray and Doak VanEnk has amassed 252 games played, 197 starts, 19 goals and 16 assists. The 29 victories over the last four years is the winningest four-year stint at TCU since the 1987-90 seasons produced 31 wins.
Home Sweet Home
The Frogs play their final game of the season today, hosting Louisville at 1:00 p.m. The Frogs enter the final match with a 3-5-0 mark at Garvey-Rosenthal this season after going 5-4-0 at home last year. The team went 2-5-1 on the road this year after a 1-7-0 away record in 2000.
Scoring is the Goal
After notching just nine goals in the side's opening 10 games (0.90 GA), the Frogs have posted 14 goals in their last seven contests (2.00 GA). TCU has been shut out just once over the past seven games after being blanked six times in the first 10 games.
Looking for a Doughnut
TCU is still in search of its first defensive shutout of the season. The Frogs picked up five shutouts during the 2000 season.
Bobby Breaks Out
Junior forward Bobby Montes has caught fire late in the season and now tops the team in scoring with 11 points (5 goals, 1 assist). He has scored a goal in five of TCU's last six matches.
Nick Keeps Kicking
TCU midfielder Nick Browne scored a goal in Thursday's soccer match. The starting placekicker then flew with the football team to UAB on Friday. He returned to Fort Worth on Saturday night and is suited up for Sunday's soccer finale. Browne is first on the football team in scoring and second on the soccer squad by one point.
Must Win By Two (or More)
All five of TCU's victories this season have been by at least two goals. TCU is 0-3-0 in games decided by one goal.
Nick Baker: Play Maker
Once again, TCU midfielder Nick Baker has been a catalyst for the Horned Frog offense. The senior from Arlington has a pair of goals and two assists this season to rank fourth on the team in points. For his career, he has 11 goals and 10 assists for 32 career points.
Like Butter
TCU has spread its offense around this season as 16 different players have accounted for at least one point. Eleven players have scored goals for the Frogs and five different players have recorded game-winning tallies.
First Blood, First Loss
Until Thursday's 3-1 loss, TCU was 4-0-0 in games which they drew first blood. DePaul scored three goals in the final 22 minutes to storm back for the conference win.
Many Happy Returns
Of TCU's top 12 scorers, 10 are underclassmen who will return for the Horned Frogs next year.
