
Swimming Rolls Past Notre Dame, St. Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - TCU's swimming and diving teams kept their winning streaks alive, rolling past Notre Dame and St. Mary's Friday afternoon in South Bend, Ind. The men defeated the Fighting Irish 163-137, while the Lady Frogs cruised to a 105-82 triumph over St. Mary's.
For the men, senior Scott Adkins (El Paso, Texas/Franklin) and junior Jeff Parkinson (Aurora, Colo./Smoky Hill) sparked the victory with three wins a piece. Adkins claimed victory in the 100- (59.14) and 200-yard (2:07.69) breastroke, as well as with the Horned Frogs' 400 medley relay team (3:28.55). Parkinson took first place in the 100 (47.17) and 200 (1:43.36) freestyle and as a member of TCU's 400-yard free relay (3:11.95).
Freshman Aimee Moreau (Kenner, La./St. Martin's Episcopal) led the way for the women, posting the top time in three events: the 100 backstroke (59.83), 100 butterfly (1:00.54) and 400 free realy (3:41.05).
With the wins, the women (5-1) extended its winning streak to five, while the men (4-2) have won four in a row.
TCU concludes its road trip Saturday at the Universty of Illinois-Chicago. The meet is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
